There are many realms to healing…emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Optimal wellness is all-encompassing of the healing in these areas of life. Balancing heart, mind, body, and soul is they key to optimal wellness. But how do we get there?
It takes a commitment to action – again, an intention to make change. These areas tend to overlap, so when work is done in one area, the benefits will cross over to other areas as well. For instance, when we focus on improving our physical being by changing our dietary habits and eating whole foods free of pesticides, sugar, and preservatives, we’ll find that our emotional and mental states improve as well. Toxins wreak havoc on our bodies in many ways, and when we address the culprits on our health, our overall well-being is restored.
Approaching optimal wellness from the spiritual realm will also yield results. Prayer, meditation, and mindfulness practices have been proven to calm emotions and provide clarity to everyday situations. If you’re not religious, that’s perfectly fine. You can be spiritual without being religious. Approach practices based on your own beliefs and values.
What practices or intentions are you going to commit to from this point forward?
The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind.
