Worrying about the future is pointless. The majority of things we worry about never happen, so there is no reason to worry about them. One of the Universal Laws discussed earlier is the Law of Attraction. Like attracts like, so what you resist, persists. That means that when you obsess over things you don’t want, you will get what you don’t want.

Worrying about the future has no purpose in our lives. Playing the constant “what if?” record prevents us from moving forward. Worry creates anxiety and fear and leads to unhealthy behaviors, habits, eventually leading to health problems. These problems can be avoided to some degree by managing the constant worry. Just as the past has no power over us, the future doesn’t either. We can gain control of our power by focusing on what we know to be true right here and now, and not fabricating stories in our head about the future.

Focus on what’s happening now. If you are worried about your health, then decide what you can do today to make positive change. Prevention is different than worry. Prevention is taking action right now to mitigate illness, disease, or health challenges. Worry is dwelling in the possibility of something happening and being paralyzed from the fear. Be present today…be here now!

Nothing ever happened in the past that can prevent you from being present now; and if the past cannot prevent you from being present now, what power does it have?
